My cartooning career started at Fairfax, during the setting up of the Gold Coast Weekend Herald in 1993. I was invited to illustrate letters to the editor and the points of interest section 'InTouch'. Each week was a joy for me, reading letters and snipets of information inturn selecting 3 for illustration. I try to give my reader something humourous and informative to think about. My aim is have them realise a punch line then to feel satisfied having worked it out. I integrate second and hidden meanings in my toons.

LOO LITIGATION; "Has it been thought about in Albert or Gold Coast town plans?
Alas we fear not, but again from the Guardian comes the tale of Muslim tenants in Blackburn, Lancashire, who have petitioned the local housing department to have their toilets turned around so they no longer face Mecca.
Using a toilet while facing Mecca breaches the Islamic code of personal conduct.
The council has worked out that each 'turn-around' would cost in the vicinity of four hundred British pounds.
The Director of Housing has explained that when the estate was originally built in 1966 there were very few ethnic families in the area and the positioning of toilets was not a consideration.
Rafiq Malik, Director of Blackburn's Racial equity council ...has been assured the factor would always be considered in new schemes for ethnic housing."
