Australian Community Newspapers,
the national arm of John Fairfax Holdings wanted to grab the attention of
Agencies. To have them use ACN for their interstate ad placement. This campaign
varied from week to week with electric colours. The ads conveyed a message
that readers of all professional denominations required any number of items
for their respective professions. Those items potentially bought from browsing
the pages of their local Fairfax paper.
Professions chosen were of an abstract nature. This was intended to hook
an Agency's attention. Professions included a 1920's Pilot, a Clown, Gypsie,
Ballerina, Star Gazer, and Bullfighter. This series ran simutaneously in
several industry journals. Their placement ideally timed to contrast the
overall absence of colour flow throughout those journals. Interestingly,
the following issues of these journals dramatically increased in their colour
use and diversity. |
