John Fairfax's Community Newspapers division had 9 publications at one stage. In total they covered much of the Sydney West and Southern areas. The Suns were the relaunch of a popular series of titles. I art directed and laid out much to do with new and inventive editorial lay-outs for these publication titles. The Penrith Sun being the first title to be processed through the new state-of-the-art "SCOOP" centrally automated graphics and advertising placement system. I was the sole Fairfax artist to work alongside programers from Sacramento's SII. I literally pushed the button during a 5 way phone link-up sending the first issue successfully through the system.
